training for a Tri without water......Gall

Hello,

I m thinking about training for a Tri that is in August.

My main problem is I dont have access to a pool. I am too poor to get a $40. a mo membership at the Y etc.

Any other suggestions? I dont really wanna train in the "river" because of safety etc.

Thanks for your help!

ask the Y if you could work for pool time. Are you in college? If so, is there a pool on campus?

How much is a per visit pass to the Y? In my area it is $7.00. If you only go once a week you will only be out $28.00 at that rate or you could get by with even fewer visits.

Go on a day when you can spend a few hours and make it count.

Bottom line, you need to be in the water.

Is the river you refer to clean? Are there aligators in it or something?
