| fatigue like pain around elbows | Kramer7 Aug 25, 2003 2:51 AM | | I come up a cycling back ground, and I'm new to running and have been experiencing fatigue like pain around the inside of my elbows on medium to long runs.
Over time does this pain subside once your body gets used to running.
Any comments or suggestion would be appreciated.

Try this, on your next run focus on your body rather than the clock. Go out on your favorite 2-3 mile course and focus on keeping relaxed from the waist up.
Avoid steep hills or off road trials for this exercise. Those conditions require more arm pumping, which is what I suspect is causing the fatique.
Keep your hands open, neutral, don't clinch. My hands typically swing in front, close to my waist. Avoid a side pivot motion (arm pump).
I hope this helps. Ultimately, the more you run, the more your body will find its natural positioning. It should cure this itself in time. Putting in at least one long run per week should help quite a bit. |
