I want to get back in the water just as fast as the next guy to keep training but don't want to break some unspoken rule or look like a gross guy for swimming with road rash.

I guess if you're scabbed over, they're technically not 'open'. Still pretty gross to the non-cyclist, though.
I'd hit the ocean/bay/lake for awhile. |
