The US Army is gracious enough to let us once again have the 10th Annual Rocketman Triathlon on Redstone Arsenal near Huntsville Alabama on Sunday August 24. Distances are 1/2 mile, 12.8 mile, 3.2 mile on a secure military installation (that means almost ZERO traffic). The race is put on by the Spring City Triathletes, a nonprofit organization, with profits benefitting Toys For Tots. Scoring is by ChampionChip and entries are limited to 350 with no race day entry. Full info at http://members.tripod.com/~rocketmantri and stop by our club site at http://www.springcitytri.org and sign our guest book.
You can sign up online at http://www.active.com/event_detail.cfm?event_id=1061238
Cost is $35 for early entry with NO USAT fees. Or reply back and request a mailed entry form. Thanks and hope to see ya.

Wow, sounds like a nice deal. All of my local tri's keep pushing up to the $50 dollar mark or more. If I lived closer I'd come. (A two-three days of driving though would be a bit tough)

The USAT races around here are $50 and up, plus the $9 daily USAT fee if you arent an annual member. Big difference is they are being run for profit, ours is by volunteer with what we do profit going to Toys for Tots...since I took over in 1998 we have donated over $20,000 to Toys for Tots plus many hundreds of new toys brought by the competitors..where you live?
