|when you train for marathons?
I've cut back to one swim workout every other week and one or two short rides a week. Has anyone experienced serious detraining from exclusively running? I'm coming up on a race and plan to start out in spring with another. On all my rides it feels like I'm becoming weaker, though my swimming hasn't changed.
Any suggestions on keeping speed while training to run?

|I usually run a November marathon after tri season (not this season though). Typically, around june I start de-tuning my tri-training and start road miles. Since I also do open-water swims, i typically sacrifice the bike miles.
Come august/sept, tri-season is wrapping up, and my biking doesnt seem to be suffering at that point. At this point I'll start increasing the longruns from 10 miles to 20.
By sept/october, my bike is certainly suffering, buy tri season is long gone so i really dont care. After the marathon, there's plenty of time to rebuild the bike-base before next season.
