Problem with shortish legs on long wetsuit(4 posts)

Problem with shortish legs on long wetsuit74
Sep 20, 2002 10:21 AM
Ive recently bought a Aquaman wetsuit and Ive had problems getting the shortish legs off over a timing chip worn on the ankle. I often hook my thumbs under the timing chip as well as the wetsuit when I sit down to take the bottom half of the wetsuit off.

Has anybody else had this problem? What have you done to get around it?

If you're female, you can wear your timing chip against your skin inside your swimsuit up near your chest somewhere...works best if you don't have much of a chest. You could also work your wetsuit off so that once it's off, it's inside out and your hands don't get in the way of the chip.

Im a guy, but I guess I could put the chip in a pocket of my tri tank top. I would worry about the chip not being close enough to the mat though, should I worry?

I'm not sure. I sometimes wear my chip inside my tri-suit top, sort of pasted by the lycra next to my skin, so it's probably ok. To be sure, I'd ask one of the race officials prior to the race. I started doing the alternative to the ankle chip when my velcro holder nearly fell off my foot during a swim leg once.
