|And I loved it! It was a sprint Tri at California State Long Beach. Backwards, but fun! 3.5 mile run, 11 mile bike, and 400 meter swim. never had the "brick" problem, just a mental one of "how do I put on my stinking gloves while riding?" I come from a swimming background, and realize that I need to focus on running more!!
Anyone out there have suggestions for my next one? I would like to keep it local to southern California.
Thanks ahead of time!

|Hey my sister did that one, sh said it was pretty unorganized but fun. Do the LA triathlon series at Bonellie park in San Dimas. Check them out at Trievents.com. |
They are sprint triathlons for the most part and pretty well organized. I did my first there. Good luck

was going to do that one also, but didn't want to make a 3 hour drive to lb.
also did my first about a month ago at CSU SLO - a little longer (800 yd swim, 23 bike, 6 run). improved fast because i was already running.
look on the net for tri events - especially active.com and maybe triathletemag.com (there are many sights out there)
i know of a few tri's in cal: newport beach, san jose. if i find any more info, i'll post it.
triathlon training is addictive, and the events are fun. keep your interest by reading on sights like this and books like "triathlete's training bible (Joe Friel). join a club team, such as the cslb tri team. finally, train - you'll only improve with training.
