hello,

i ride a 52cm trek road bike. i am looking to buy a y foil and i think i found one but in a 48cm. with the foil i would be turning it into a TT bike etc.

is it better to get a smaller frame with a shorter top tube when setting up a bike with aerobars?

thanks!

Going to a smaller frame for a TT set-up can work. By going with the shorter top tube, you are efefctively doing what the tri-bikes do, but with a longer rear end. You will be able to achieve a good cockpit set-up, but realize you may be compromising on the bikes handling by placing more of your weight on the front wheel. For some people that's not an issue. It's up to you if that is a concern.
