Whats your resting heart rate?(6 posts)

Whats your resting heart rate?Jim Smith

I'm interested in seeing how I compare to others as far as resting heart rate. I'm not a triathlete, but think I am in fairly decent shape heart wise due to cycling lots and lots of miles.

Mine is 50bpm.

How about you?

Mine is 55bpm... I'm 16 yrs. old / 120lbs.

(I'm not a triathlete either).

Do older people usually have a lower resting heart rate?
Thanks.

I'm 46 with a resting heart rate of 42. Triathlete!

You can not compare your resting rate with others to determine your fitness or health. Parameters and genetics vary! For example: The 2001 Tour De France varies from a low of 32 to a high of 59. Weights vary from 115 to 189!
