OK, I'm going to try it this year with my first triathlon ever. In my present state, doing 1.5 km of swimming would mean about 95% of the effort of a race over olympic distance, so I'll have to do something about it.
Is there any really usefull book out there to improve your swimming skills? I've heard, Terry Laughlin's Total Immersion is the standard in the field ...
Thanks folks

I bought and read Total Immersion and I have been very impressed and successfully improving my swim. The book goes back to the basic techniques. Before every workout I have been dedicated at doing these techniques and can now say without a doubt that I believe the book works. Good luck.

Good luck. I woudl enter triatholons if I could swim.My ccylings good myt running would only need a month or so's work as I have done a bit of xc running but my swimings bad. I did 40 lengths of a 25 M pool and that took me an hour so I would be about 3 weeks behind everyone else if I didnt drown
