He looked so strong I can't believe that he just blew. Anyone know what happened? Did he have a mechanical or did he get dropped when Ullrich put the hammer down?

At each one he attacked too early if going for the win, or maybe he was just trying to cause a selection, either way he didn't appear to have the legs when crunch time came and then he finished anonymously several minutes back. |

I thought the one of him and Ullrich would stick but Bettini and Quick Step held most breaks in check. Personally I think George is coming into form with his eyes on the worlds. I think he's just 'testing' his legs and trying to possibly get some WC points. |
