Tyler to USPS and Jan to CSC?(5 posts)

Tyler to USPS and Jan to CSC?Live Steam

I posted this below in response to another thread, but I guess it got lost in there. Does this make sense for all parties? It seems to me that Postal would like to have an American lead the squad once Lance rides off into the Texas sunset. Tyler is the obvious choice. He knows the team and his style somewhat mirrors LAs. I don't think Bianchi is the right team for Ullrich. He needs discipline and tactical training. Riis is a perfect DS for Jan. I think he can provide that figure of authority that Ullrich needs to keep him focused. They are also compatriots of sorts and similar style racers with a similar build. They also had similar problems on and off the bike. Actually I think Ullrich is a better fit on CSC than Tyler is. Could these be the next stops for these racers?

Tyler wasn't older than Armstrong and if CSC hadn't already passed on Ullrich (well, really his entourage)before he went to Coast.

Jan dicked around CSC before signing with Coast. Riis was not to happy with Jan and when Team Coast went belly up, Riis said he would not pursue Ullrich. CSC would have been a perfect fit for Jan, but I think he burned that bridge already.

Tyler is popular with his teamates and enjoys having a team work for him. He has a second in Giro and a forth in the TDF in the past two years. He is not going to go back to setting pace on climbs for Armstrong. He seems happy where he is and I would not expect a move.

I thought Tyler had already re-signed for CSC? Maybe for 2006 I can see Tyler back in USPS colors but as a Tour leader? I dunno, he is older than Lance. On the ohter hand, it does appear that he will be riding for a year or two after Lance retires.

I still don't see Tyler leaving CSC (and hope he does NOT). From all appearances, Tyler seems to fit in well. And is it possible for Tyler and Bjarne to get along any better than they all ready do?

Don't know what Jan will do, but I hope he doesn't go back to Telekom.

and look at the results. don't see a change there, it's too successful.
Maybe Jan will go to Gerolsteiner but then again maybe he stays in Celeste. They need a better DS.
