|Brings the barber shop scene to mind, when Eddie Murphy is playing all the subjects in the scene, they're arguing about who the greatest boxer of all time is..."mike, Mike, MIKE Tyson would kick Rocky Marciano's as@." We can only debate, nobody really knows. I would agree that's half the fun when talking sports with others. We must remember, you'll always have someone around the corner that can beat you. Ask the Nebraska Football team, Mike Tyson, Pele, but dont ask Mickey Mantle, he really thought he was the best ever.
Lance could win six and we would still have a percentage of people say _______ is better/was better. If the question must really be asked, I would say "The greatest cyclist ever is the guy who never won a race, but never gave up."

|all speculation but if you just count the Palmares you wind up with Eddy. Lance needs about 30 more days in yellow and to double his stages to even be close. Even if he did, it's only 1 race (TdF) The Cannibal won from Jan Velo season to October. Plus in 69 he won all 3 jerseys. Oh yea 5 Giros and a couple Vueltas, most of the classics, the world hour record and about a race a week for 10 years. Even if LA wins 7 he'll still be in Eddy's shadow IMHO.
