|If you like the announcers or not, how can you complain when you get 4 hours of Tour coverage, not once but sometimes a few times each day.
OLN,if you are reading this, AWESOME JOB! Please do the same for the Olympics and the Ironman and so many others so NBC and CBS can't ruin it by all of the back home, human interest stories. Show us the sports baby!!

|.....OLN so we can give them our thanks? Oh yeah, anyone know how to contact CBS too so I can tell 'em just to forget it next time.|

|go to their website for mailing address, phone and fax numbers. www.olntv.com
I wrote them a note of thanks after reading your post. I am sometimes quick to complain and slow to praise, so thanks to you for the reminder about contacting them.

|There was just an article on OLN that said that when OLN bought the rights to the Tour, the ASO (the company that owns the Tour) required them to buy time on a major network. So OLN buys the time on CBS, and CBS is happy to sell it to them. In other words, don't bother complaining to CBS.
I would complain to OLN about not showing Sunday stages live, and I will. I guess they don't want to cannibalize their required network coverage, but I don't believe anyone who watches the stages live wastes their time on the CBS show anyway. Seems like they are solving a problem that doesn't exist.
Thankfully, OLN has the Tour rights for the next several years. If only we can fix the Sunday thing, it will be perfect.

|OLN doens't have exclusive rights on Sunday - they can't air until after CBS. I think that is thru 2004's TdF then OLN has it exclusive until 2010 or something like that.
It is a great thing OLN is doing with all their coverage of the sport. Thank You.
And hey, sure CBS has fluff coverage but it brings a race to the masses that normally might not see or know anything about it. Thanks CBS for your support of the sport as well. I remember back in the days before the internet and OLN when CBS's weekend coverage and your local sports page was all you ever got....and we liked it.

|I believe OLN has the rights to the Tour through the end of the decade. Further, in future years ('05 at the latest), there will be no Sunday coverage on CBS and OLN will have live coverage on Sundays.

|... and then i could cancel my cable, get a grey-market dish with subscription to merely 2 channels" OLN and HBO :)
The past 2 years of OLN coverage have equalled what they get in Europe. I can see a groundswell of people 'discovering' bike racing, and getting hooked as fans. I have been taping the coverage for a family, one member of whom is a teenage triathlon phenom - she watches the tapes over and over and over (possibly a future road racing star?)! Maybe this can bring a boost back to the sport that has been waning for a decade.
