|It's been an amazing Tour. Yesterday I couln't stop thinking about it...even 4 hours after watching the stage live on OLN.
When the Tour is great it is REALLY great. Nothing else compares with it. I'm a fan of other "American" sports...(major league baseball, NFL and college football, NBA and NCAA baketball and the NHL)...but none of those, even at their finest, have the beauty, drama and excitment of cycling's greatest race. (Ahhh to live in Europe where cycling is understood by the culture...sigh)
Of course we are being treated to a rare occurance...next year will very likly not be as riviting.
Enjoy it while it lasts, eh?

|My wife and I are also heavily involved in equestrian events--show jumping, dressage, etc. She couldn't understand Ullrich's choice not to exploit Lance's bad luck in the fall yesterday, especially as he streaked past Jan on the climb. It really reminded me of what frustrates me about equestrian sports; the total lack of sportsmanship. Everyone is out there only to win ribbons for themselves, no teamwork, or camraderie. As your competitition smilingly congratulates you for winning, they're second guessing you or themselves behind your back.
I think most of the drama comes from the fact that this is the one sport (I can think of) where an entire team competes head-to-head with their captain, but their only combined goal is the victory of their captain.
