Ullrich did the classy (and right) thing by slowing and waiting after LA's crash and I admire that. How much did he hurt himself though?

It seems to me that his style of sitting and mashing is very unsuited to slowing down and then having to respond to a great attack. LA beat him and I'm not covering for Jan at all but I wonder if Jan could've gotten back up to speed any faster regardless of what else was happening in the race after he slowed?

Thoughts?
Jan knew he was beat for the day...MrDan

LA's aerobic capacity cannot be beat, and Lance was clearly feeling better. Jan gave it all he could, but it just wasn't in the cards today. Jan had a great day, but Lance had a better one. LA accelerated away and maintained his juice, and Jan knows what that looks like from experience.
No point in trying to pull away from LA on this one...

JMHO,

Yeah, I still don't think Jan would've beat LA today either. nmjtferraro
