|Go Lance ... hats off to Jan as well. An appropriate gesture.

|for a gentlemanly gesture. Lance did it for him a couple of years ago.
I didn't see the 'crash', but from what I read, Lance was back on the bike in a split second. I think the adrenaline from the crash was one of the factors that allowed him to kick into high gear - a gear, alas, I do not possess. Paul

|My 2c... Jan was beat for the day and he knew it. No point in trying to deny the victory to LA. The way LA took off after that Jan couldn't answer anyway. I can bet that if Jan has a few more years to race, lot's of U.S. fans will be rooting for him after LA retires which I think is no later than the 2004 tour conclusion, but perhaps this is it...

|My OLN sound was out too...I think their server was overloaded. I had to read it blow by blow off of cyclingnews and Letour.com. What fun. It still isn't over - heck, Lance could crash for the four or is it the fifth time?? As long as Lance is well hydrated for the iTT, then its' a done deal. Whaddastage!|

|As I said, its' not over. A lot of things can happen. But "more than likely" if Lance stays out of trouble on the coming flat stages, and feels OK in the iTT, he should win. I wouldn't bet against him now. But...the fat lady ain't sung yet....|

|my BFHA (enough - Ed).
If I had to bet, I'd have to go LA. But I wouldn't give long odds. That must have taken a lot outta him, and Jan is no amateur soft lad, and he's still in touch. I'm not totally convinced by this TT dehydration stuff either.
Mildly interesting end to the Tour anyway...
