Got any doctors out there, the amount they claimed he dehydrated in a roughly one hour time trial? Is that doable? I suspect there is more to the story.

I don't doubt that you could get dehydrated pretty quickly during an hour time trial at that effort in the 90+ degree hear, but I think Lance's real problem is he lost too much weight and it has affected his power in the mountains and TT. Ullrich seems to have no problems keeping up with Lance this year and in the TT the contest wasn't even close--he just was a stronger rider that day. I think Lance is really going to have to fight if he wants to keep the yellow jersey this year.

According to Dr. Michele Ferrari the most one can lose in an hour is about two litres of fluid, or 2 kilos. Talking to a nurse yesterday on a group ride, she said that the only way Lance could have lost 5 kilos is if he had severe diarrhea or vomiting throughout the time trial!! It appears that we're all recipients of managed information.

I think the real quote was waking weight to after TT weight. After it was talked about many times it may have been misinterpreted to mean he lost that much in 1 hour. I think it was all day.

From when he woke up in the AM until after the TT.

Noticably thinner than in previous years. This is a real factor when it comes to power production...
