|If Ullrich comes up short who does Bianchi try to add||Walter|

Ullrich has shown that he's dealt with his personal demons and has a very real shot at winning this year, essentially w/o team support.
I think most would dispassionately agree that if Bianchi was anywhere near on par with USPS the GC would probably be different.
Ullrich is thinking about mountains and one more TT but I'm sure team management is looking ahead.
Bianchi has reasonably deep pockets and one of the very top riders. So who do they try to add for next year?

|This group was thrown together to offset the loss of the coast team. I highly doubt you will see this team ride next year, maybe the same group of people, but they will have a much more organized sponsorship and team.|

|If Ullrich goes on to win this race, Bianchi will be able to milk it for all it's worth, and they will definitely be around next year. Can you imagine USPS deciding to pull up camp after one of Armstrong's victories? Even if Ullrich doesn't win, it's clear he's on his way back to the very top. That alone will attract a few more sponsors for the team and will ease the sponsorship burden of Bianchi. I think Bianchi's brass is absolutely thrilled by Ullrich's comeback and will stand by the team. Bianchi hasn't been a title sponsor for quite a long time and Jan's performance will help them reap a lot of benefits from it. I don't think that they really need to add any new riders. I'm sure they will, but with the team on more established grounds next year, more of the riders will have a season plan to be ready for the Tour. This year things were so screwed up they didn't even know if they were going to be able to race, much less which ones they were going to be peaking for.|

|I'm pretty sure I remember the UCI and TdF people saying that when they gave Coast's spot to Bianchi. Unless he blows up Ullrich is on the podium, maybe the tallest box, so I agree with the poster who said that Bianchi is thrilled and will attract secondary sponsors.
Good points about Bianchi and minimal planning time. They may be capable of better.
I had forgotten that Beltran was on Coast. Except for the one time he went out too hard and blew up Rubiera, he's done great work for USPS.
I don't see Ullrich attacking except maybe at the very top to steal a few seconds and bonuses so he can in effect "borrow" USPS and ride with LA.
I'm sure they'll try to have a better set up next year.
