|that after the Alps, there'd still be 6 guys within 2 and half minutes of Armstrong, and that those 6 wouldn't include 4 of the big pre-race contenders (Beloki, Simoni, Gonzalez and Botero). Finally a great TdF.
Hats off to Virenque, Mayo and especially Vinokourov for their attacking racing.

|the favorite at this point to unseat Armstrong even if it was still unlikely. Ullrich may (and that's a big MAY) out-TT Armstrong but isn't climbing with him. I don't think Mayo, Vinokourov and company can produce the TT's to challenge Armstrong, but hopefully they will keep it close enough to encourage more attacking in the Pyrenees.|
