Just like Petacchi, had Cipo and his team came, most of all of his team, including Cipo, would have abandoned and be sitting in the spas and watching it on tv by now....

I know most of yall disagree, but, the first time they hit a bump in the road and the sprinters start abandoning just makes their victories somewhat have to give it though to those who usually stick it out, like McEwen and Zabel.

I definately think that Petacchi tained his wins by dropping out...

I see where you're coming from, but please realize only the biggest names in cycling history can say "I won 10 stages in the Giro and Tour." Few can claim to have done it in a year, let alone a single season!!! So what if Pettachi is sitting in a spa right now?

Are Carl Lewis's gold medals "tainted" because he never ran a marathon???
I disagree...ClydeTri

I was loving Petacchi before he dropped out. He should have stayed in, especially with the Points Jersey on his shoulders!!

Fassa are losing their men because of a stomach bug, one (or two?) of them didn't start today for the very same reason.

Cipo wasn't invited because HE IS Cipollini, no other reason. Kirsipuu gets an invite each year (FRENCH team) and I can't see you complaining about how he HAS NEVER finished TdF and always climbs off his bike when the mountains come. In the case of Cipollini the reason is never professional, it's always personal.

If people complain about sprinters, there's an easy solution... ban sprinters from the TdF, then they surely can't climb off the bike in the mountains.
I don't think that anyone's complaining about sprinters...James OCLV

only the ones that steal the glory for a few stages and then drop out. Finish the race!. That's all..
