Team Time Trial with fewer than 5 riders??ericy

Does anyone know how this would work (Fassa Bortolo -Petacchi's team - comes to mind)? The time for the team is when the 5th rider crosses the line, and Fassa now only has 3 left. Would the remainder of the team be disqualified, or is there some other penalty that they would pay (besides having to run a time trial with only 3 riders).

That is why they have the Team Time Trial before the mountains. If by chance there was a Team Time Trial under such circumstances, they would only go with what was left of the team but don't really know.

Only time trials left this year are Individual Time Trials.
I think they'd go with what was left,TJeanloz

If 5 riders crashed out of the first stage, and the team was thus left with 4 to ride the TTT, it would be penalty enough for those 4 to be racing against teams of 9.
are you sure about it??cyclopathic

Tour calendar lists stage 19 as TTT:

Bordeaux - Saint-Maixent-l'Ecole
Stage 19 : team time trial - 49 km,
saturday 26 july
