|Their coverage this year was worse than last year! Today's stage (at least the online feeds) seemed to be one of the most exciting in recent years. What does CBS do? They give it all of about 8 minutes of summary coverage. Total crap.|

|they REALLY freakin suck! I counted only 6 minutes of coverage of today's EPIC stage... Oh well, there's two hours on OLN tonight|

|did get a good music edit though! My 3 year old was dancing and shouting 'go lance go'!
That was sad. Now I'm not sure it was a good idea to watch it since I was holding out on reading results. Sure got my attention though. OLN! OLN! OLN! Kirsten Gum, Kirsten Gum. Wish you could were something else other than those unflattering khaki shirts.

|Aweful, aweful, aweful.
Six minutes coverage of a six hour race. Tell me WHY cbs gets any coverage at all? It's a _Waste_ for all concerned.

|The fact that ANY bike race got an hour of coverage on a major network is huge for the sport. Let's face it folks, its not NASCAR, now I am no NASCAR fan, but ask the average american to name a pro bike racer other than LA. You won't get to many responses. We are getting spoiled by OLN, don't forget to patronize their advertisers.|

|Good idea - I will go out and buy a new grill tomorrow :-).
Actually, I was in REI today, and was looking at the camelbacks. Didn't buy, but probably will soon. Did buy some powerbars though - does that count?
I do agree that we are *really* getting spoiled by the OLN coverage. Phil, Paul and Bob are outstanding, and Kirsten seems to be picking up on it (in some ways it helps to have a newbie asking questions, as there are viewers new to the sport tuning in, and it helps these folks understand some of the finer points of the sport).
Did anyone else watch the running of the Bulls in Pamplona that comes on before the TDF coverage? Kind of a bizaare sport if you ask me, but whatever turns you on. Anyways, tonight there were a couple of guys running with the bulls while wearing the king of the mountain polka-dot jersey. They are both cyclists, and after leaving Pamplona, they were going to France to ride (today's stage to L'Alpe d'Huez I believe). Lucky for them they didn't get gored :-).

|I emailed them (I think it was CBS) after their atrocious coverage of the final stage in 2001. I totally lambasted their integrity as sports journalists. I was downright insulting. I got nothing in return, except maybe a form letter. I don't think I have watched any sports event from them since. Be sure to pass the word that CBS sucks.
Thank you OLN.

|...but it won't win an Emmy!
So why does CBS go to all the trouble of editing a weeks worth of the Tour into an hour of coverage and saves the last six minutes for a confusing glimpse of an epic stage?
To promote Lance Armstrong and the greatness of the USA and then secondly to show an obscure bit of culture to the masses instead of
packaging it for the true enthusiasts.
But, if it's golf (which I do watch, BTW) then it gets several hours of coverage, even when play stops due to rain, or tennis when a match goes three hours it gets more than enough air time.
Makes you wonder why not at least another hour for the Tour.
