No live coverage on OLN Sundayhrv
Jul 11, 2003 11:07 AM
Just looked at the schedule for OLN and it shows the race preview is at 8:30 PM ET, Race at 9:00 PM, and that's it. I'm going to be hard pressed to not look at L'Alpe d'Huez results beforehand! Anyone know if another station is carrying it live?

they did this every sunday last year as well...Bruno S

I believe one of the main networks (CBS?) will show the stage but not live and for only about 30 min.

CBS sports has the rights to certain weekend coverage. This way, people without cable can see the one-hour coverage from 9-noon eastern time.
Well, to be more accurate, people can see 20 minutes of commercials and 20 minutes of a combination of the history of Tour/Cheer for Lance profile/Cheer for USA in Tour profile/quaint tourists tips for visitors to France.
The remaining 20 minutes will be the actual climb of the Alpe. Phil and Paul are the commentators.
Good luck in the dark about the results. If Lance happens to win, the headlines might appear on any internet or CNN-type news ticker.
Yard work or hot, oily, monkey sex is your best bet for safe isolation from spoilers.
CBS will probably cover next Sunday's and the final into Paris also.

go for a long ride, stay away from the tv and the computer, and wait for oln's night coverage.
As usual, deciphering the OLN schedule is trickyGregJ

The OLN website shows the Alpe de Huez starting at 8:30 pm ET and PT, with commentary for the first half hour. However, if I am not mistaken, they were showing on tv today that the commentary will begin at 8 pm ET and PT with racing starting at 8:30 or 9 I guess. I think you can catch it 3 hours earlier PT as well. If it is not on at 8, you will get to see the Running of the Bulls, maybe someone wil get gored!!
