Lance's helmet in the TTTFrith

He wore a different helmet than the rest of the posties...anyone have any info on this?

They had a little special report on Lance's helmet. The design is more effecting with his particular high back during a TT (as a result of a previous injury I believe). The regular TT helmets left a bit of turbulance between his back and the bottom of the helmet so Lance himself paid for the wind tunnel time to test new design and he/they came up with what you saw him using. He "owns" the rights, or design, to that particular helmet.

The crossection is about 6 ft by 6 ft and I think it produces something like 30-50 knots of wind ... I wonder if we could rent it out for cycle testing? It was built for one particular job, and doesn't get a whole lot of use otherwise.

...the Armstrong Giro helmet?
i think he lent it to Heras for Giro ITT. not positive. NMstik__boy

Didn't know that lance "owned" the rights etc...however, the model name of the helmet is the REV 2.
