|Since we live at the arse end of the world, we are only now being reminded why it is so great being Australian...
An Aussie stage win...
An Aussie in the yellow jersey...
An Aussie in the green jersey...
As a Nation, we don't look good in pokka-dots, so we will leave that jersey for someone else!

|Here in Canada whenever anyone is talking about the poor showing in amature sport (or any sport that isn't hockey) Australia always comes up as a model. Similar population, similar economic structure very different attitude toward athletes and amature sports programs. Keep it up.|

|It is unbelievable what the 8 Aussies are doing in the first week of the TDF. Almost total dominance. I'm an American living in Austria -- I'm watching British Eurosport and I've got to tell you the Brits (David Duffield and Mike Smith) are going nuts. Sean Kelly is a bit more reserved, but even he is getting excited. The biggest fan of all the British Eurosport commentators though is the American wife of Phil Anderson. Yesterday when BC won she shrieked so loud you could hear people in the background laughing. I've stocked the fridge with Foster's in preparation for more victories. Cheers, VJ|
