Top finishes in bunch sprints, a proven Classics rider, and a UCI champ. Wow. And he wears that Italian Nat. champ lersey well too. If he's not the best all around rider, who is? Hmmmmm, sounds like a poll in the making.

He's one of my favorites also. He could have been World Champion too (Lisbon) had it not been for the Italian team infighting.

I was in Lisbon at the World's and Bartoli simply didn't have the class to give his former dedicated domestique a lead out. I also met Bettini at the airport coming in and he's a very nice guy.
Ditto, Bettini's awesome!CritLover

Watching some of his wins from last year was the only thing that got me through the long winter on the trainer. His win at Liege-Bastogne-Liege was beautiful. I would love to see him in the top 10 in Paris.

I'm just glad he was able to ride out of Michele Bartoli's shadow. I like both riders, but neither deserves to be a domestique save at the World's. I put Paoli in the same class of riders as Johan Museeuw.
