Rumsas. The next Lance?elviento

I was very impressed with his performance when his aero bar was totally f**ked up. If he had Lance's position and technology and the friggin' bar in the right position, he might have beaten lance.

He is also a decent climber. And he is young. Who do you all think?

Those are pretty big shoes to fill. Do you actually see him winning the Tour De France 4 times? I don't in my wildest imagination but, hey you never know.

I'm also just a bit confused about this problem with his handlebar, when exactly did it occur? I watched the time trial twice now and from what I can tell it had to have been after the 33k checkpoint because up to that point he was still riding with his hands on the aero bar. The only point where I saw any problem was right at the finish and he was riding with his hands on the tops, but it still didn't look like there was any problem with the position of his bar at all that I can tell. Of course I am not an expert.

Anyways, difficult or impossible to tell what the difference in time would have been assuming there really was a problem at all.

Im can't entertain any thoughts of understanding where you are coming from with the statement "if he had Lances position and technology and the friggin bar in the right position he might have beaten Lance" I mean I understand what you are trying to say but it IS a race, things happen and certain people win on some days and certain people don't.

It's like saying if Beloki would have raced a smarter race or if he had prepared better he could have beaten Lance. Woulda...coulda.... shoulda....

In the end the winner is the winner. No excuses or what ifs....
sure I agree. I am just trying to say that it's quiteelviento

unbelievable for the mechanic not to tighten a coupla bolts on the bike when the rider is shooting for 2nd overall and a stage win.

That is pretty unreal that he had a problem like that on such a critical stage....

if so, it's highly unlikely he'll be the next lance. he's probably only got a couple more years on his top form at best.
