Either this guy is clueless when it comes to cycling (possible, since it says he primarily follows boxing and NFL football) or he's trolling for reactions!

...cleverness of tree moss. Nobody reads his lame ass articles so he has to resort to flame journalism. Someone please help me get this guy's e-mail so I can give him a piece of my mind - because any more "mind" would be good for him.

this is taken from his article, "For my money, being the greatest athlete in the world involves strength, speed, agility, hand-eye coordination, mental toughness and the ability to make your body do things that defy description. Chief among them is not pumping your legs up and down while your feet are strapped to bicycle pedals.".......apparently he's an idiot, but we already knew that. maybe he should try a citizens race and see how well he does.
Clueless ... definitely.Humma Hah

He'd argue that football is mainstream, while cycling is fringe. I'd argue that elsewhere in the world, American football is a non-sport, and in the US it is predominantly a spectator sport. It may have a larger fan base here, but I'd bet more people in the US ride bicycles (at least occasionally) than strap on pads and helmets for a game of tackle football.

Had he any clue about bicycle roadracing, those comments about having to overcome defense, hand-eye coordination, enduring whatever, would vanish. But I'm preaching to the choir. His cluelessness is manifest to us.

cycling is #1 sport in france and belgium. in italy, it's second to football but then football and the world cup must be fringe sports. that ron sucker probably thinks naming pele last century's greatest athlete a ludicrous idea. how can someone be a pro writer with this level of ignorance? it's a shame.
maybe ron a$$^&*@ is involved with athletes agents with no power over armstrong and making no money out of him?

...to answer the question

<We want your thoughts on his place in the sports universe. Is he the greatest individual athlete in the U.S., as columnist Filip Bondy says? Or is he simply a man who can perform a unique event well, as columnist Ron Borges says. Use the mail form below to send us your thoughts, and read selected reader reaction.>>
