He was a non-conformist, witty, tell-it-like-it-is, good humored rider with the 7-11 team in the late eighties or early nineties, from Colorado, I think. He was well liked by his teammates and the fans, who lovingly referred to him as "Bobke." He also raced mountain bikes for awhile, after the 7-11 Team dissolved.

That's for starters, anyway.
