|i Britain's David Millar, suffering from a ruptured muscle around his ribs, fell back on the last climb and lost more than seven minutes, dropping from seventh overall to 27th. His white jersey of top young rider passed to Italian Ivan Basso, who finished an inspired seventh.
A ruptured muscle doesn't seem to be something that one could finish the Tour with.

|I would think a rider with a broken shoulder would have a hard time finishing a grand tour, but Hamilton pulled it off, 2nd place no less.
I would however say that any thoughts of finishing high may be out the window as Millar lost a lot of time on the climb today and it will probably hurt him the rest of the way.
