Stuart O'Grady about? O'Grady is from Australia, but Liggett doesn't sound as if he is too, so it can't be that can it?
Any rider from the Commonwealthmr_spin

Not just O'Grady. Robbie Hunter from South Africa, Millar from Malta/Hong Kong/Scotland, Neil Stephens, Sean Yates, etc. I think in the past, he used to do the English-speaking feed for the broadcast, or at least to Australia and New Zealand. So he tried to mention the local boys. Maybe it's just a habit now.

Maybe its because there aren't any real British contenders left in there now. David Millar is about 30 minites behind, so the next best thing is a Commonwealth Rider.

Easy to understand really, we get ESPN coverage here (in NZ) and you get really sick of the one-sided US/Lance coverage.

If only we could get Eurosport

Phil Liggett also happens to live in South Africa when he's away from Broadcasting. So perhaps that explains him rooting for Robbie Hunter. It wouldn't surprise me if he rides with Robbie every now and then.
