|CNN has a story about the TDF in which the author implies that LA and the rest of the USPS team is taking performance enhancing drugs. His reasoning, if you can call it that, was because the US hasn't been as tough as Europe on enforcement, LA saw that Italian doctor 6 times, LA should be acting differently if he wasn't on drugs, etc. What complete BS. I mean, CNN and ESPN barely mention the TDF. No, they have to talk about baseball for hours and if you blink, you miss their one liner and photo of Lance. How's that. Don't even give 5 sec coverage of the greatest bike race in the world, and then imply that LA is on drugs. Thank god for OLN. I wish they could cover every stage live.|

|ESPN's salad years are over. They started out with nothing and made sports into a billion dollar empire. Unfortunantly, or fortunantly for us, they spent all their time and money building an empire of third tier spinoffs (classics, espn2, the magazine) instead of securing what had got them to the top in the first place - large but uncovered niche sports. Now ever network has managed to out bid ESPN for almost everything worth watching and it looks like they are headed right back to what they started out as - a nobody.
Unless Xtreme sports starts to garner the attention of more than just the 12-16 year crowd they are headed for a windfall and I am happy to see it. RIP ESPN. YOU HAVE AND ALWAYS WILL S**K

|1 of the 3 Sportswriters that appear on ESPN's Sunday morning show addressed LA and the drug rumors. He told all the whisperers and rumormongers to shut up. If only that were the philosophy of the entire network! We'd be better off if ESPN just ignored the Tour entirely instead of the soundbites and rumors we get. |
I don't get OLN and listen to streaming audio thru Yahoo. Not bad but I want more.

That's the beauty of opinion pieces, you can use innuendo and rumor without having any constraints of journalism. So now we can all jam on Wolff and he comes across as being "thought provocative" instead of the lazy dumb-@ss who doesn't do his homework.
It's not about the sports writer.... but Wolff likes to think so.
