|Suckin' the fumes of a phalanx of motorbikes?||E3|

|Watching the mountain stages, I'm staggered by the humanity lining the roads and the proximity of the motorbikes. I suppose that the riders get used to the closeness of the crowd, and it's amazing there aren't more mishaps.
Mostly, I wonder about sucking the fumes of the motorbikes. Several of them are always leading the riders, especially the leader, by mere feet.
I can't help but wonder if the riders ever get irritated from breathing this stuff, but have no choice but to put up with it. Or is it a non-issue?

|I've been behind a few officials' motorcycles in a few races. SUCKS is the operative word here. Gulping down exhaust while climbing and gasping for breath is really awful.|
