Winning the time trials by a hair's breadth thanks to Conti's secret weapon

Faster tires will enable Team Telekom, with its top cyclists Jan Ullrich and Erik Zabel, to save valuable seconds in the uphill time trials in this year's Tour de France. On July 18th the pro team will have reason to be confident when they go to the starting line for the 32-km stretch from Grenoble to Chamrousse. Not only are their bikes equipped with Continental's tried-and-tested high-performance racing tires. These tires have additionally been treated for hours beforehand with a special tuning liquid that interacts with the tires to produce a very measurable improvement in rolling resistance. A driving test with the Team Telekom has shown the chemical treatment to reduce rolling resistance by 15%

Conti introduced the liquid stuff on Ullrich's time trial bike at worlds 2 years ago. God only knows what it is.
