The bike Lance rode in the TTT was blue, the rest of the team rode white bikes. Were there other diffenences? Was the team riding their 5200's or 5900's?

Bob Roll talked to a rep from Trek just prior to the TTT about the bike. He said Lance's TT bike is a new frame custom made for Lance. It has the seat rail clamp built into the frame, so no need for a seat post. The fork blades are more aero than the std Trek TT frame the other guys are riding. Also, all cables are routed internally on the frame (I'm sure some of the cables on the std TT frame are internally routed). Apparently Lance and Trek engineers spend a lot of time in the wind tunnel designing this bike.

the front end of the bike frame has small dimples on it like on a golf ball to aid in wind resistance. I would also guess that his helmet has this feature as well.

The features you mentioned are also on the white TT bikes also. I would venture to say the gold ball dimples and some minor tweaking are probably all that are different... but different enough to cost tons more lol!!!
