Hey guys, what do you think will happen???
35 minutes is quite some time, think LA can beat it??

Last year Stuart O'Grady, the guy leading it, lost 37 minutes on the first mountain stage to Armstrong....something that will happen again this year. I am not worried about the leaders a half hour ahead as much as I am Ullrich and others behind Lance

Let's see what the hills and Time trials do. If he's actually saving his energy, he could still win. If he's tired, forget about it.

One of the members of the break yesterday made this comment: "We were sure glad when Vinkourav (sp) flatted and went back to the peloton. Otherwise, Postal would have chased us down". You have to ask yourself: would Postal, Telekom and ONCE all have set back and let that break get that much time on them if there was a legitimate threat in it? Of course not. The real tour starts tomorrow. By the end of the time trial on Wednesday, look for Armstrong, Ullrich, Beloki, Moreau and Julich to be contenders.
I'll tell you tomorrow Tuesday...Bruno S

I've read some where that last year on a single stage Lance finished 41 min. ahead of O'Grady. If Lance has the same form as last year the 35 min should be no big deal.

I don't think letting the break go was a big mistake on the part of the main teams. However, Ogrady may decide to climb a little better than in years past now that he'll want to stay in the Yellow as long as possible. The door has also been opened for Kivelev (sp?) A relatively unknown quantity with at least a bit of reputed talent. I do think an interesting race has been made more interesting. We'll know more tomorrow.
