|I've been following cycling for about 8 years now and I wached when Lance was world champion at 21 in '93, wheh he and Ekimov battled in the Tour DuPont, when the Motorola team was allowed to win for Fabio Casartelli and Lance gave a salute to the sky and Fabio.
When Big Mig was eating up the peloton in France in July, the time Lance started before Indurain and got caught right on TV, Greg Lemonds last Tour in '94 riding for Gan on his tricked out Lotus Sport TT bike.
But all this time it has been like a long-distance relationship, ltterally, a few clips on the evening news, then written notes in Velonews, and then TV coverage of the Tour on ESPN as crappy as it might of been. But now with OLN the tour is in my house 3 times a day and for 2 hours a shot and it is like getting the main course after going to a sampling party.
I am from the US and its fast-food, drive-thru culture so american football is #1 in my book, but coming in just a tire width behind is cycling. American sports like football, basketball, and hockey (NO BASEBALL WHATSOEVER!!!!) are like comics, short, action packed, flashy and colorful, and cycling is like a good book, with drama and suspense, action as well but in metered doses, it keeps you on the edge of your seat to see what the next stage is going to bring a few seconds there, a sprint bonus here, a flat over there, you never know how the drama may unfold.
Thats just my two cents on the world and I feel a lot better now.

|I would only disagree (very slightly) on one point: IMO, the most exciting thing in sports is the Stanley Cup playoffs.|

|I agree with Lazy. Stanley Cup playoffs are awesome. I love the TDF, college football, and March Madness(partly because of pools and money). I can't really watch baseball anymore but understand that pitching duels must be interesting for those that can stand it.
OLN is fantastic for putting on the TDF coverage. Everyone be sure to email them and tell them how much you are enjoying it even if you don't get OLN. Maybe your cable company will have it by this time next year and we need OLN to bring it to us again.
