|What is Bobby Julich' form into this TdF? Three years ago he was the comeback story, then Lance did his thing and Julich has been the bad luck kid. I've heard or read nothing about this GC contender this season.|

|I think he has had some respectable placings in his recent races, but nothing that would have hinted that he was on great form. I think you have to remember that his podium place was earned in a tour where alot of riders went home. He might be able to make the top 10, but I wouldn't think he'll be contending for the podium. I wouldn't mind being proven wrong, though!|

|But wouldn't it be funny to see two Americans on the podium? That would serve them right for not including Mercury!
Yes, I know Julich rides for a French team. I also know that most of the Mercury team that would've been chosen for the TdF would not have been American. But still!

|It would be so sweet to have multiple Americans on the podium. I'd love to see the French get their snubbing little noses rubbed in "it". I'm sure they'd try to find a way to DQ someone - plant drugs in his stuff.
My apologies to any Frenchies reading this!

|Julich looks strong so far. He has been in the front on each stage when the group split, and yesterday picked up some seconds on the other favorites. Phil and Paul were saying Telekom were chasing to bring back the break for Zabel, but I wonder if they weren't trying to limit Jan's loss to Julich, who should be veiwed as a podium threat.|| |
