Riding in Puerto Rico?(2 posts)

Riding in Puerto Rico?Silas_Greenback

My wife and I are going to an annual meeting in early March at a fancy resort in eastern PR. Being from Connecticut, we pine for warm weather riding, but think we ought to ride with locals. Can anyone help on contacts, names, clubs, racers training daily, etc.? Thanks a lot.

My wife and I stayed at a fancy resort in eastern PR (Conquistator) in late November. I didn't bring my bike, but once I got there I was really happy I didn't bring it. The main east-west road to San Juan is nothing special. In addition to absolutely crazy drivers, it's littered with dog corpses and a fair amount of debris. With no shoulders and the same crazy drivers, I wouldn't even think about the smaller roads in the area. We did see a few groups riding on the weekends, but I have no idea how to get in touch with them. Maybe you've been to PR before and know the condition; I just thought I'd share my limited experience.
