I am going to a two day business meeting in Cleveland on August 21-22. I will have the evening of the 21st free. I will be staying in a hotel in downtown Cleveland.

Can I ride out of downtown?? I need a route or two. If I don't ride, I'll be tempted to go out to the bars with a bunch of roudy single guys. All things considered, I'd rather be on my bike. HELP. Paul

paul,

i used to live in cleveland and did a lot of training to and from downtown...one good route out of downtown is east euclid/cedar ave towards case western reserve(though there is a few shady places along east 25-70th streets), to MLK park and cedar circle...cedar hill is a nice steep mile climb that gives you a good view of the city...from there I used to ride along cedar road and side streets through shaker heights(very rich area, nice paved streets, few cars) back to my house by john carroll university...overall its a good 40 mile ride, nothing too difficult, but nice and relaxing.

enjoy cleveland:)
