I've registered for the Chico (California) Wildflower Century on April 28th, but evey hotel I've tried in town is booked up! If you know of any vacancies, or if you are cancelling for some reason, please let me know - thanks...

There's only like two hotels in town! Well, okay, probably more. Three? Where do all the people stay?

The trick is to find someone you know up there and sleep on their floor. That's what a lot of people do. It's basically a college town, so if you don't know anyone, maybe your friends might. I did it last year and there were 15 people sleeping on the floor of a friend's home. I didn't even know half of them. It was great. We threw a BBQ. Started the ride from the house the next morning. Bring some food or some beer--much cheaper than a hotel!

Thanks for the suggestion . 20 years ago I may have been able to pass as a college student, but as someone who completed their chronological half century a couple of years ago, I'm getting a little old for sleeping on the floor before I cycle 100 miles.

I do have a reservation for Oroville, which is about 30 miles away. I'll just have to get up an hour earlier.

hope you found accomodations and your ride went well. Oroville wasn't too far out, and it gave you the option of turning "home" after Table Mtn. Hope all went well, I was glad the weather was cool, that ride would be murder in high heat.
