|Depending on the type of riding your doing the Oxford/Anniston area is loaded with some great rides. The local bike club is the NorthEast Alabama Bicycling Club - http://www.neabc.org - They hosted the Cheaha Challenge(May 6th), advertised as the "toughest century in the south", it has 7000 ft of climbing. There are plenty of roads in the Talladaga National forest that are challenging, also. I did a century in Anniston in March and it was very hard.
For lighter riding there is a very nice Rails-to-Trails in the area, Chief Ladiga trail.
You really shouldn't have any trouble finding great riding.
