Any good long rides around Houston, TX?medstud

Just moved to Houston for med school at UT. Wondering whhere the good ride routes are...any info is greatly appreciated. Anyone know if there are any club/organized rides.

There are good couple of rides here... The main one is always in the West Oaks shopping center @ 8 in the morning behind Mervyn's, the other if you are a good racer is from I-10 @ Kirkwood towards west oaks and on to fulshear. It also leaves @ 8 am. THE sure bet is West Oaks, also Northwest cycling club has one. CAll them they are off 290 and Jones road.

I don't live in Houston, but my company HQ is there and I visit frequently. For inner city riding near you, check out Memorial park. It's a short course but biker friendly, and it's lit like a Xmas tree at night. For organized rides, check out:

They are building their website, but contact them for info on local riding.
