|Don't do it... Las Vegas has the most inconsiderate drivers in the world; no bike lanes to speak of; and probably more drunk drivers than anywhere. If you mountain bike at all, call Escape the City Streets they'll rent you a mountain bike (they even provide day tours) and show you where some good offroad riding is.|

|Take your road bike to Red Rock State Park. The park itself has a 13 mile paved scenic route, first half climbing, second half downhill. Then exit the park and turn right.Follow the highway to Bonnie Springs, Blue Diamond, etc. Get a map for more details.
Just stay out of the city!!!

|... called the Tour Las Vegas, in the fall if I recall. I've driven there and just couldn't see enough charm in it to bother going.
Maybe riding a century (or one of the shorter options) would work better than solo. On the same principle as prey species that overwhelm the predators by sheer numbers, maybe all those targets would make it less likely the drunks and aggressive drivers would hit you personally!
