|Hi . . . Anyone familiar with biking across the Golden Gate and biking north around Mill Valley and Sausalito? We're planning a day and thanks for any help or comments regarding desirable routes in this area.

|if your still interested in s.f. - marin riding...
i biked across the golden gate for many years.
to get to it from s.f. you have to ride through the presidio and then up to the bridge.
the east sidewalk is open weekdays for bikes.
the west sidewalk is open after 3:30pm weekdays, and all day sat./sun. -bikes only.
best to avoid east sidewalk during tourist hours, everyday starting around 10:30.
once across the bridge you can climb up into the marin headlands and check out one of the nicest views of the bridge and s.f. in the background. you can then head out to rodeo beach. you can come back through the tunnel and and make a left on alexander and drop down into sausalito about 2 miles. from the north end of sausalito you can hit the bike trial and wander over to mill valley or go east and ride into tiburon via the bike trial along the bay.
