I like Boulder, CO. I don't have much to compare it to, but the amount of bikepathes we have combined with the trail riding possibilities is probably hard to beat. Oh and there are lots of great bikeshops here too!

...to give ya courteous information and helpful hints about cycling while traversing the ghetto at 11pm. Very outgoing too; will approach and ask you if they can try out your steed. It's common local knowledge to cheerfully "lend" your bike to these nice, wonderful(?) and beautiful black Brothas!

Yeah, MF, you're lucky these brothers didn't just say, "Gimme that bike!" I've ridden all over Washington, DC, not at 11PM, and have had not hostile encounters, or even particularly bad vibes from the 80 % black population. They see a white guy on a nice bike going down their street, and most say, "Cool." But you gotta be cool, too. And that means a wave or nod or "hello" as you ride by. If they joke, you keep it light and don't get uptight. You just stay away from the place the punks gather, like you'd do in any 'hood, fool.
