|I'll be leaving sweltering TX for the Lake Sunapee area for a couple weeks this July. Of course, I'll strap the bikes on top for the drive. Any good leads on nice road and/or mtn rides in the area? One ride I'm looking at is Sunapee to Queechee Gorge, hitting some of the covered bridges on the way. Looking for rides of different levels, since the family will want to tag along as well.|

|I can recommend about 100 different rides. Depends on if you want to drive or leave straight from you hotel/cabin/house. I would recommend pedaling down into Warner and riding up Mt. Kearsage. It is a nice hard ride with a decent view. If you want to you can then hike the last mile or so to the top.
Rt 3 to woodstock, then 112 (I think that is the rt #) towards kinsman notch then 118 south. Nice 6-7 mile climb with a 6 mile descent.
You can also ride around lake Sunapee. That is a race course that we do every year. nice rolling hills and you're never that far from anything.
I could go on and on. 114 through Sunapee and New London, etc is a nice wide road with good shoulders. There is plenty of Mtn Biking in the area too. Mt Sunapee also has trails all around it.

Thanks. I'll definitely try those. I'll probably do most of my stuff from the B&B early morning/late evening. I'll have my van, but I'm the only truly "bike-bit" member of the family, so I'll bet that any family rides we do will be short out&backs from the B&B as well.
Any local bike shops you'd recommend for local advice while I'm there?

|Outspokin is the local shop that I know of the most. There is also one almost directly across from the traffic circle at Mt. Sunapee. The name however escapes me at the moment. They woule be able to help you out the best.
