|I have an older lugged bike that I have fixed some rust issues on and am now going to paint. It will be turned into a fixed gear, but I would like to have a color that suggests the glory days of cycling. Back when Merckx, Coppi, Bobet, and Binda where stars.
Suggestions greatly appreciated

|... but please don't. Something rich and elegant. There's too much flashy yellow on the road today, and it always makes me think of Schwinn Varsities. I'd go for less flash and more class.
A nice red is always nice, but I adore a rich, deep blue.
All three of my bikes are silver.

|I've noticed a lot of the current GM luxo-barges are sporting a creamy pearl white that's pretty close to old Italian frames of the 70's and 80's. Might ask an auto body shop if that stuff is affordable. I'm going to use it when I repaint my modern race bike this winter.|
