Polishing my steelTrek(2 posts)

Polishing my steelTrekWooban

I plan on stripping the paint, polishing the tubing, and painting the lugs.

Does anyone have suggestions on how to polish steel? Will Brasso work or some other stainless steel polish?

I've done this with my mtn bike, but it is AL.
Yeah, but possible problems...Silverback

Simichrome and Mother's Polish (usually available at motorycycle shops) both will do it, with plenty o' rubbing. It takes a LOT of work to get a shiny, chrome-like finish, and then it will be subject to rust and dulling. Before I stripped it, I think I'd try a test shine-up on something else to see if I could live with the work and the maintenance.
